This approach is ideal if you:
-
Feel tight or tense in multiple areas
-
Haven’t had lasting results from standard massage
-
Have specific areas of tension that never fully resolve
-
Want to try different techniques without needing multiple appointments
How it works
We combine a range of advanced hands-on and instrument assisted techniques within your session, tailored to your individual needs.
Different methods target the body in different ways. Combining them allows for a more effective and longer-lasting result, rather than limiting your treatment to just one approach.
Safe, personalised, and always your choice
You’ll be fully assessed beforehand to ensure all techniques are appropriate and safe for you.
We’ll talk through what may help most, and you’re always in control, if you prefer a more traditional hands-on approach, that’s absolutely fine too.

Cupping:
Cups suction layers of connective tissue which creates a lifting effect and space in tight, compressed areas.
In standard practice, cups are left still on areas for a while leaving a large purple bruise.
We do not perform this type of cupping - instead, we use an intensity controlled suction and glide it over the tight areas, this greatly encourages free movement of tissues, without causing bruising.
Dry needling / MSK acupuncture:
Tiny, sterile needles are inserted into target areas of particularly stubborn tension or knots to rapidly restore the affected muscle back to normal levels of tightness and mobility. Acupuncture needles typically have a profound affect in only a few minutes.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Release (IASTR):
We utilise a large collection of stainless steel handheld tools that are moulded into shapes to target particular areas of the body better e.g under the shoulder blade. The use of these tools helps release tension far more effectively than hands alone.
Hands:
Your osteopath is trained in various types of massage as well as osteopathic soft tissue release over the course of 5 year training, and enhanced post graduate training. A favoured technique includes stretch alongside massage - e.g providing massage to the lower back while the muscles are in an elongated position, because it is highly effective.
Machine Assisted Massage:
We may employ use of machine assisted massage to target deep, broad areas - this is similar to a high-quality theragun but uses a more evenly sustained pressure instead of repeated thumping.
