Osteopathic Treatment for Neck Pain

Common Causes of Neck Pain

A "pain in the neck" is physically limiting, stressful, and difficult to ignore.

Posture often plays a huge role when it comes to neck problems.

Why?

Imagine carrying the shopping bags home with your arm outstretched rather than by your side - how would your shoulder cope? That's similar to what your neck is doing every day when it's held forward.

Our tendency to look down, or drift our heavy heads forward for lengths of time without noticing puts considerably more load through our necks having to support the extra weight of our head.

This is incredibly common due to heavy use of technology in modern life.

Despite what you might be thinking, we are not about to tell you to stop working or scrolling (especially as I sit here on my own laptop writing this advice page!)

Instead we identify the issue, explain it, guide you towards adapting and overcoming, helping you attune your body to comfortably meet the demands of your lifestyle.

Neck Pain Advice

I suffer with tension in my neck and shoulders which would restrict my head movement. I starting my Osteopath journey with Holly in Staines over a year ago and it is the best decision I have ever made. Now Holly has started her own business in Dorking, I have continued my treatment with her.
